ABOUT ME

Starting this with a disclaimer. I am insanely busy from September through mid November, so I'm not as inclined to accept guests during this time. That being said, I moved to Seattle in the Fall of ‘21. Still getting a handle on the area, so I can’t be as much of a tour guide as I was back in Montana. I am a GM of a pretty sweet music venue though, so I can give some insight into the Seattle music scene. I live near Alki beach in West Seattle and within a stone’s throw of the world famous Easy Street Records. I miss Montana badly, especially my 22 year old son who is finishing up college there. Maddux and Smoltz, my dog and cat, made the trip out with me. Since then we've added a feline pal named Glavine, so you’d better like animals if you plan on crashing with me in my tiny place. ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I had friends that used the couch surfing site for years, and many of the bands I've booked were members. It seems like a great way to save a little money and meet great people along the way. Since I've been on, I've met some of the coolest people I've ever known and made some incredible friends.

Interests

Sports of almost all kinds. Music!!! I've run several music venues, and I enjoy every night of music I get the opportunity to take in. I love the outdoors. Hiking, fishing, camping...
I'm a big fan of eating. I was about the pickiest eater in the world when I was young. Now I can't wait to try something new.

Music, Movies, and Books

My taste in music is varied. Currently, my favorite artist is Ryan Bingham. I had the pleasure of seeing him at my friend's bar with about 10 other people probably 15 years ago when nobody knew who he was, and I've been a huge fan ever since.
Movie wise, I'd have to say that a few of my favorites are The Natural, The Big Lebowski (I've known The Dude personally since I was young), Tombstone, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Pretty much any movie that has a dog die in it will make me cry.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Probably the coolest thing I've had the opportunity to do is be a part of the reintroduction of the wolves to Yellowstone National Park. My mother ran a publishing company here in Montana during the reintroduction, and we were invited on a tour with the biologists and financiers of the project. I was able to go into the last remaining pen to feed the wolves a desensitized meat. There's much more to the story, but it was a great experience and one of the most intense things I've been involved in.
