I'm working as an English teacher at a university in Istanbul. In my free time I do street photography around the city and visit local pubs, restaurants, tea houses, bakeries, eateries, drinkeries, grocers, bazaars, boutiques, shops, and so on...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One of the most enjoyable parts of traveling is meeting locals (even if not originally from there). I want to stay with local people when I travel so I can get a feel for what life is really like there, not just the tourist experience. I also want to offer the same thing to people who are traveling.

Interests

I like to experience a new culture through photography, food, and drink - I typically wander around the streets (with a loose plan at best) and take photographs of the people there to get an idea about their daily lives. During my wandering I like to stop in to interesting bars or restaurants that I find to taste the local food and drinks.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm an english teacher and I can help you improve your language skills, and maybe you can teach me your language. I know a bit about photography, and as a hobbyist street photographer I can help you take better pictures (and take you to some great places in Istanbul for photos). I can also be a decent Istanbul tour guide.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook a meal for us, help you practice English, make you laugh, listen to your problems, maybe help you solve your problems, and be your drinking buddy (maybe I should put this first).
