Sobre mí

I am a Taoist Chef Naturalist Photographer that is following an exciting and unpredictable path in life. Currently working in New Haven, CT in a clinical lab studying skin and scalp issues through microscopic photography; I will soon be in Juneau AK where I will be a full-time photography/naturalist guide for Gastineau Guiding.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I have never used couchsurfing but I thought I would give it a try as I head from CA to MT to help deliver a car from my sister to my dad. I enjoy being with people and in homes more than hotels, and think it would make traveling more economical and enjoyable!

Música, películas y libros

I am just going to stick with books since I am so much more interested in them than movies or music. Though both of those are good too, I am just a bibliophile!

The Name of the Wind, The Monkey Wrench Gang, The I-Ching (in various translations and interpretations), Ansel Adams: An Autobiography, The Snow Leopard, Anything by Terry Tempest Williams, An Unprejudiced Palette, Plenty-Coups: Chief of the Crows

Algo increíble que he hecho

Tipped a 5700 lb white Rhino in Namibia!

Leading a conservation biology based academic program there, we were working with the Namibian government to relocate rhinos into areas where they had excellent habitat. Part of this was tranquilizing the rhinos and then performing basic checkups and installing a radio transmitter into their horns. The checkup involved examining both sides of the rhino for any injury, thus, we had to tip what was basically a modern day dinosaur. Only took 8 people, good times!
