Overview
About Me
I was born in Runcorn (which is essentially the arse end of nowhere). After growing up there and studying Music technology I moved to Leeds to go to uni but ended up living there for almost 10 years.
After my time in Leeds I went travelling to Thailand and travelled the length of Vietnam on a motorbike (which was one of the best times of my life). I returned to Liverpool to try and fit back in to a "normal life". After being in my new sales job for 4 months I got my travelling feet back on and moved to Melbourne. My professional background has always been in sales. The reason for this is that somebody decided to give me a sales job once and I got stuck in the cycle of sales. Which doesn't really suit me at all.
I am looking to concentrate on music, travel and sharing good times with good people. I know that the three can compliment each other perfectly.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
After living in Melbourne for the last 4 months and loving it, I have decided I would like to travel up the East coast with absolutely no budget. Going to Burning Seed festival has in no small part spurred me on to try and live a more nomadic lifestyle for a while. I really want to meet and stay with as many awesome people as I go.
I am going to try and hitch hike up the coast with no real plan or timescale and would like to try and carry on the idea when I get back to England. I have no budget but a guitar and busking amp to make money as I go. I have been quite successful in Melbourne when I go out busking and want to try it out in more towns and cities on the way so that I can share my music with as many people as possible, and make it an incredibly memorable time.
I would also like to hear and share stories with people, make awesome food with people (as I am a pretty good cook, if I do say so myself)
Interests
I have been a musician for almost 15 years and it is what has always driven me. Most of my musical life has been spent playing guitar in a reggae/country/folk/blues/fingerpicking style. I also shoot and edit films and am travelling with the all-reliable go-pro. I would love to get involved with some projects on my travels as well. I also juggle balls. No clubs. Just balls. But I want to learn clubs too.
I am also quite adept with Canon DSLR's and photography composition and editing.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite music is the music that is made with others. As far as recorded music goes I love Tony Rice, Martha Tilston, all old blues, new blues and blue blues. My favourite music is roots reggae and have seen some of my favourite reggae artists that are still alive and kicking. My favourite gig was seeing Jimmy Cliff play.
I do like to watch movies but prefer animated comedies such as Futurama, Archer, Bojack Horseman, Adventure Time, Bob's Burgers (anything with H Jon Benjamin in it). Zoidberg is the best cartoon character however.
I also like over-dramatised American dramas such as The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Sons Of Anarchy, Game Of Thrones etc, etc, etc.
In all honestly I don't read a lot of books. One of my favourite books I did read was Chopper by Mark Brandon Reed. I also used to love reading conspiracy and alien books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once abseiled down a waterfall in Vietnam which was pretty intense. Probably wouldn't have been legal to do it in England but that is one of the many things I loved about Vietnam. Do whatever.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach guitar, juggling, music production, audio production, ukulele, cooking, computer skills (Macbook specialised), underhanded computer skills and I also think I can share positivity with people who need an extra ear or an extra mind to bounce things off of.
Software: Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, Illustrator (a little), After Effects,
I also am very much interested in good craft ales, good single malt scotch and I do like having a social drink or two every now and then :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would love to repay hosts hospitality with cooking, drinking and sharing good times in general. If anyone who hosts me would like to learn any of the skills I can share, I can easily stay for any amount of time be it a day, a week or however long is needed or wanted.
