ABOUT ME

I have lived in New Zealand all of my life. I'm studying towards my PhD in engineering, but try to lead a balanced lifestyle. Just like most other kiwis I have something of a travel bug, so I'm fascinated by virtually every culture except for my own. I love going to new places and meeting new people.

Surfing some couches, doing some hosting in November once I get back from my own travels.

None yet, but looking forward to catching up with some people in Europe over the next couple of months!

Interests

I enjoy keeping active with sports and other recreation activities. I play the drums, and love playing and listening to all kinds of music.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I like pretty much any music. Bands that I am listening to at the moment include Cairo Knife Fight, Foo Fighters, Coldplay, U2, Shapeshifter, Departure Lounge.
Movies: Lord of the Rings, The Usual Suspects, Fight Club, The Shawshank Redemption, V for Vendetta, Snatch, The Departed, Man On Fire.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

New Years Eve 2008/2009 in Antananarivo, Madagascar. We were sitting on top of a van looking at the night sky and we could see stars overhead, lightning on one side of the sky and a sunset on the other side. Add that to a strong wind in our faces and it made for an unforgettable sight.
Another moment that left me awestruck was jumping out of a plane, going skydiving in Auckland. Huge rush!
