ABOUT ME

Well, I'm not a complicated person. I'm a young 22 years old male from the province of Quebec in Canada.

I enjoy long conversations and respectful debate.
I like to play devil's advocate. I can endorse any point of views.

The passion (or urge) to learn is what fueled all my projects. I just can't live without learning and discovering the world. The more I learn and the more I realize how ignorant I am (thank you Socrates).

I like to make people laugh. I always want to have fun. Nevertheless, I can be serious when it is necessary.

PHILOSOPHY

I've been influenced by some old timers philosophers like John Stuart Mill and Nietzsche. I think my actions should always aim towards the greater good. I don't believe in any god, but I don't judge those who do. Spirituality is an important part of life.

I think we should do what we want/like because we only have one life and we can't waste it. Nevertheless, it doesn't mean to be selfish and egoist.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

First, I want to discover what is CS by doing a 6 month trip (3 months in Turkey, 3 months in Europe).
If I like my trip (I will surely do), I'd like to receive people from everywhere in my apartment.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The only experience of Couch Surfing (CS) come from the others. Friends experienced it and loved it. They invited people home and it is always interesting to meet new people. So, I want to try couch surfer this summer and when I come back to Turkey, I want to offer my couch to the other travelers.
Before that, I had no idea it even existed. I heard about CS last year.

Interests

I love to read almost everything : novels, newspapers, politics magazine, philosophy books, poetry.

Music is also one of my favorite pastime. I've been playing guitar for 7 years.

Alas, I'm also a video game geek. Sometimes, I like to grab on a controller and have fun with friends on my console.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books : I like books about politics and history. The last books I read were about Macedonia, Balkans and Romania history. So fantastic to discover that Caeusescu (hard to write...) only had 4 years of primary school and barely know how to read!

My favorite books of all time are Animal Farm (Georges Orwell), La bagarre (Gérard Bessette), Les fleurs du Mal (Baudelaire), Ecce Homo (Friedrich Nietzsche)

Movies : I do not like big Hollywood movies except when I want to switch my brain to off. I prefer movies with substance. My favorite movies of all time are : One flew over a cucoo's nest, Requiem for a dream,

Music : I love rock music, jazz, techno, folk music, almost everything. My favorite bands are Rage Against the Machine, Neil Young, Daft Punk, Montreal Guitare Trio and Ben Monder.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I've ever done what a one-week internship in embedded journalism with the Canadian Forces. I was with soldiers in Mississippi USA and we did some video journalism just like we were in Afghanistan. We slept 3 hours in average per day. It was just crazy. We had the opportunity to speak with a lot of soldiers and some of my prejudices about the Army disappeared. I learned that everything is not black nor white. There are multiples shades of grey.
