I grew up in sleepy but quirky Edmonton, Alberta and on my 20th birthday moved to Dublin, Ireland and worked on the Guitar Hero team for Activision. After graduating with my first degree I moved to New Zealand for 6 months, lived out of a van and was a vagabond. I came back to finish my 2nd degree before immediately moving to teach in London, England. I met an awesome Australian woman while in the UK (as you do) and we moved to Melbourne to teach in a better climate! Her name is Tara and she's just as into couchsurfing as I am. We got married in early 2016 and bought a house overlooking her family's 150 year old vineyard in Rutherglen. Recently we've moved to the "big city" of Albury so Tara could be closer to her orchestra. I work at the family vineyard and teach part time while Tara teaches year 6 in Wodonga.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As of July 2017 I have both hosted and surfed multiple times.

I would hope that the experience isn't like a hotel or even a hostel; Tara and I would want to cook together, go out and enjoy the great outdoors, etc. We want to learn about other people and cultures and would hope that's what you are looking for too :)

Interests

I've played guitar for 15 years, had 8 years of classical piano training, and played the drums for a couple of years too. I can pretty much pick up anything, just don't ask me music theory. Also wine (Tara comes from 6 generations of Australian winemakers).
