I'm a 39 year-old man originally from Madison, Wisconsin, and currently live in the Washington, D.C. Metro area where I've been the past 9 years. I've previously lived in Spain and India (3 different times), and love exploring different parts of the world and meeting new people!

Much of my work is focused upon restoring our relationship with the planet, through both spiritually-rooted experiences and policy advocacy. I love to learn from folks about their own experiences in the outdoors, and I am nourished through sharing in those adventures with others!

I haven't stayed with or hosted folks through Couchsurfing for a long while, but I thought that I would give it another shot!

Many memorable experiences have come through hosting fellow Couchsurfers and staying with folks within the network over the last 15 years :)

There is something beautiful about hosting (and being hosted), almost like a return to how travelers have traditionally been treated. In our ever-growing monocultural global society, so much of this hospitality and solidarity culture has been lost. The Couchsurfing platform is a way to jumpstart this tradition, to both give and receive, and to enrich our lives through meeting and sharing with others.

I am a gregarious person, and I love to share conversation over meals. I've been blessed with opportunities to travel widely and meet so many different types of people that it is difficult for me to NOT find some common interest with others I meet!
