About Me
CURRENT MISSION
There are roughly 4,567 recognized types of flavors from which liquid cocktails can be mixed. There are 7,000,000 flavors of people with whom to mix liquid cocktails. Let's get mixing.
ABOUT ME
I have been known as the Philosopher of the Rhododendrons, the Noctornal Botanist and This Guy. By any other name, I would still be me. I live my life by the adage that the world is my oyster, but learn increasingly day by day that I am but a very small oyster in my world. Though I try to air on the side of mystery when it comes to personal descriptions, here I offer some appetizers:
Prone to distraction and cognitive dissonance, I very often find myself preoccupied with the minutia of the world--the moments when in all the immensity of life's many matrices, the profound interconnectivity of all our lives becomes all of a sudden tangible. I am equally preoccupied with dancing. Sometimes I dance in massive crowds; sometimes I dance atop various pieces of furniture; sometimes, even, I dance alone when no one else is watching. Life is a dance for me: a sublime and splendid techtonik jive in which one's footwork is one's choice and rhythm is irrelevant.
As regards being hosted, I believe there is no end to the mileage gained by respecting a host's personal proclivities and the rules that govern his or her house. Being an exchange student once and in a way vying desperately to remain an exchange student for life, I know well that active participation in the life of a host combined simultaneously with a conscious and considerate regard of that host's lifestyle makes you a better-welcomed guest anywhere.I do not smoke, am not plagued by any allergies (at least none of which I am aware) and have no particular disinclinations as regards my palette. I do enjoy a solid romperoo and always appreciate the presence of party animals in my life. That being said, and contrary to the previous statement, I will never turn down the opportunity to pass over the course of a tranquil evening engaged actively in stimulating conversation with a new acquaintance. I can dig it either way.
As regards hosting, there are but three rules: 1) have a blast, 2) be safe and 3) do almost all in your power (except not have a blast) to avoid ending up on the board of shame for intoxicated antics.
Si tu es français/française, on peut parler français! Sen turksen, biz turkçe konušabiliriz. Hablamos español tambien! And if none of those work, we're fluent in the sweet, sultry language of coexistence.

PHILOSOPHY
"I knew then that I would not be a man who would make tragedies of trifles, but a man who would make trifles of tragedies." -George Bernard Shaw
"Oui, vous m'arrachez tout, le laurier et la rose
Arrachez! Il y a malgré vous quelque chose
Que j'emporte, et ce soir quand j'entrerai chez dieu
Mon salut balaiera largement le seuil bleu
Quelque chose que sans une pli, sans une tache,
J'emporte malgré vous, et c'est…mon panache!"
~Cyrano de Bergerac, from the Rostrand
"We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time."
~T.S. Eliot, Four Quartets
"Buvons, chers amis, buvons,
~Romeo Santos
'Gençlik geleceğin güvencesidir.'
~Ataturk
"Turn down for what? ...Cops and bedtime."
~Lil Jon
