In Japan about to start a job teaching English

ABOUT ME

They say i'd be funny and odd. I'm nice enough, but straight forward.

mostly people say i'm awkward. I'm good with listening and talking one on one.

I'm positive and up beat but very laid back.
I went to school for fashion design and love making clothing costumes and fiber arts and crafts.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been to some couchsurfing events, such as pillow fights and sAntAcon
I traveled, and lived in Australia for the last 2 1/2 years. I just moved to Japan and I would like to travel a little before starting work.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have a few friends that have recommended couch surfing to me. Who had had great experiences hosting and travelling. so i thought i'd try it out.

I have met a few couch surfers, and i have stayed at friends houses who i knew before but who are part of couch surfing.

I have participated in some meet ups and events.

Interests

I am a fiber artist. I make clothing, costumes, props, home objects, installations.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've always liked swimming in the ocean. even swimming in lakes is great. especially glacier lakes the shock from the freezing water is amazing.

Also I’ve been part of some interesting art festivals. i once made a maze from fabric on rope strung between trees sort of like a clothes line but in a grid to make the maze.
Just being at and taking part and adding to the festival was the best part.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have taught sewing lessons. I'll teach you to sew if you'd like.

I am teaching myself japanese with pimsleurs audio recordings.
but would love some live speaking chances.

I have some experience teaching English as a foreign language

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can help with groceries, chip in for food, gas, etc.
