About Me

I'm currently a seasonal Wine Maker in the Niagara region of Ontario, Canada, where i was born and raised. I'm a laid back, down to earth, straight-talking kinda person and i love to do just about anything i haven't before.
New experiences for the win!
I've been across the Eastern USA and Europe and I'm currently in Hong Kong at the beginning of my travels throughout Asia. I like to keep a totally open itinerary and just go and do what i feel when I'm feeling it.
I love to see how people live their daily lives in the places i go. I'm also very interested in oddities and notorious/unusual places. (Chernobyl and China's empty cities come to mind!)
I have just recently learned of Couchsurfing and I'm very excited to build my profile and get out there!
I'm very eager to connect with locals in the places i visit and hope to meet you soon!

p.s. i have begun my verification process, but i have no phone and it apparently takes months for the verification post-card to arrive in the mail back home. Please don't hold this against me!! I'm already on the road!!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I work the Winery from August through December. I like to take the off-season to travel, and Couchsurfing is an excellent way to meet local people. It also allows me to stay on the road just that extra bit longer, until my job starts up again.
When i was first informed of Couchsurfing, i nearly feel outa my chair. Making better connections with locals and seeing how they live their lives is EXACTLY what was missing in my previous trips.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music of any genre. I always say "I love a lot, but know a little" I'm down for The Symphony, Underground Rap shows, Heavy Metal mosh-pits or the Opera. They all give me goosebumps. A real good Blues Artist could put me into a trance lol.

I read a lot about current events and history and i do enjoy studying Geo-politics and world affairs... tho i understand typically these are the subjects avoided by many people in conversation, especially while traveling, and that's totally understandable.

I come from a big movie watching family and i love the "top 100's of all time" kinda flicks. I'll typically watch most movies appearing at the Oscars as well.
Oh, and Star Wars... but who doesn't like that, right? lol
I also love cult flicks. (the 1 movie i have brought with me to Asia is The Day The Earth Stood Still.) "Klaatu barada nikto!!!"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I like to believe the truly amazing things i will do are ahead of me... maybe we'll do that thing together?
I must change someones life for the better. I have always wanted to make a significant and positive impact on the life of someone else (family aside). This will be truly amazing.
... I'm a big believer of paying it forward. We all have it in us to improve each others lives

I must also experience history first hand.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've always been told I'm an encyclopedia of "useless" facts. Spending time with me will likely teach you plenty of strange and interesting things that wont help you do anything lol
I have seen Europe from Paris to Istanbul and have lived in New York City for a short time. I've also gone fishing deep in the bush of Northern Ontario and Quebec since i was a little kid. I can teach you lots of what you want to know about these places, if that tickles your fancy :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

A warm and approachable personality and a view of the world that generally differs quite a bit from the average person.
I love to have deep discussions on just about any subject and hope to learn and self-improve with each person i meet.
It would be so rewarding to meet others who self reflect in this way whenever a new world view or new culture is presented to them. This is what i live for.
