About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To welcome people from all over the world to the exciting city of Bogota, and its surroundings
PHILOSOPHY
I'll just post some of my favorite quotes here, and you'll get an idea:
-"There is grandeur in this view of life... from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being, evolved." Charles Darwin
-"Men have forgotten this truth," said the fox. "But you must not forget it. You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed."
The Little Prince, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
-"There are three classes of people: those who see, those who see when they are shown, those who do not see."
Leonardo Da Vinci
"What is man without the beasts? If all the beasts were gone, men would die from a great loneliness of spirit. For whatever happens to the beasts, soon happen to man. All things are connected." Chief Seattle
"Be the change you want to see in the world." Mahatma Gandhi.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Due to my many occupations and activities (plus my advanced old age ;)), I don't participate in most of CS Bogotá's activities. If you like to talk, share a coffee, go out for lunch and learn about Colombia, send me an e-mail and we can meet somewhere, sometime, if I'm available. I would love to show you around. Also, I have been to several places here in Colombia that you may be interested in visiting. I'm trying to post pictures of my trips in Colombia, so check my photo albums and see if there's a place that you would like to visit. If you have any questions about those places or believe that I can be of any help, please let me know. I may not have the information myself, but I probably know of someone who does and I'll try to point you in the right direction. In the meantime, enjoy your visit/stay/life in Colombia or wherever you are!!
Interests
I've had many hobbies throughout my life. Currently, my hobbies are: Tai Chi, playing squash, swimming, hiking (I don't get to do it too often but there are several hiking groups in Bogota that take you to some amazing places not far from the city), watching movies, reading, travelling, meeting people from all over the world, trying new restaurants and many other things that Bogota has to offer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've had many amazing experiences so far: visiting the beautiful Buddhist temples in Thailand; flying in a helicopter over the Grand Canyon in the U.S.; having lunch with a friend in an amazing Vietnamese restaurant in New York's Chinatown; hiring someone in Riohacha, Guajira, to take us to Cabo de la Vela where we could see the desert and the sea next to it; visiting Parque Tayrona where I could experience the ocean, the jungle and the mountains in just one day; standing next to a 500 year old ceiba tree in the Amazon rainforest; going to a Baaba Mal concert early this year in Cartagena, throwing a surprise party for my mom's 60th birthday, and many, many more. Life itself is an amazing experience!
