I'm a 65 year old healthy man. I am also a Vietnam War Veteran who is proud of his service and the service and sacrifice our you military people are experiencing today in the Iraq and Afganistan. Over the years, I have become very involved with veterans issues. Hell a few of us local Vietnam Veterans built a wonderful memorial in our town to honor those area veterans who served during the wars and conflicts of the 20th C. I a also a professional licensed auctioneer with almost 30 years selling everything from cattle to estates, business liqudations, real estate, as well as numerous benefit and charity. My wife and I have 3 grown children and 7 grandchildren ranging in age fom 5 to 25.

In my early life I did a lot of cross country traveling via the thumb and buses, but didn't pay much attention to what I was experiencing. I now have on my bucket list a goal to walk across the US from the east to west coast for a particular cause which is near and dear to my hear. And that is raise awareness for the thousand American Veterans who suffer from, PTSD, Agent Orange related illnesses and other mental issues. The government seems to be doing a piss poor job and I believe I can make a difference.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing because It was recommended to me by my friends Dean and Laural Drive of Greensboro NC. Wonderful people who took my wife and I in when we on a wim drove 8 hours to Greensboro to attend a John Prine tribute event that they hosted on the lovely property.

Interests

Auctioneer, singing, songwriting, guitar playing, traveling in my small motor (although this time I want to walk, though I may have an RV shadow vehicle.
I love the open road and would really like to see more of it by walking. Not sure when my trek will begin if ever as I am recovering from a very serious illness over the past year but now feel strong enough to start training and gathering the necessary gear for my trip
