About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Basically to live life to the utmost fullest of potentials before my body and mind cave and death befalls me. Til then, it's one big adventure. Meeting all people (interesting or not) is always great too, you learn more than you'll ever think.

ABOUT ME

There's too much to say so we'll keep it brief. I have stern goals in life to succeed and to get to know as much of the world as I possibly can before I kick it in for the last time (whenever that will be, though not knowing is the beauty of it).

I'm a businessman by day and I'm a musician by night. Music is one of the most important things in my life. I currently play in a band called ColourSurround.

I don't have a large family but I love my brother and my parents very much. Anything I do I always have them in mind, though I've not lived close to them for about a decade now.

I love sporadic adventures, sporadic behaviour in human beings, and getting to know other cultures, lifestyles and philosophies. It's all about being open minded because no two people are truly alike.

Knowledge is not only power, it is the greatest pleasure in the world. Sex is good too, but a great conversation with a great piece of music in the background tops it all.

PHILOSOPHY

Expectation is the bane of existence. Expect only what you can extract from yourself, never from others, and you will lead a happy life. That's the Wally guarantee.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I used to do this all the time a few years back. Work and life got in the way a bit, but I'm ready to jump back in.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I travel lot's and I basically always couch surf, the only difference here is that this can actually be premeditated, which in a way takes a bit of that dynamic adventure aspect out of it, though in many other ways it will finally give a bit of piece of mind and some consistency to travels that are wrought with surprise affairs. My greatest travel experience was taking a flight from Ottawa to Vancouver and then hitch-hiking down to LA to catch a bus to Indio, California to hit up Coachella 2006. I usually go with my brother but he couldn't make it and it was a line-up I couldn't miss.

Ended up meeting the most varied and interesting individuals and the way things worked out were almost divine. For example, I met a preacher man and former lawyer on the drive who told me the best place to start, having never been to LA for an extended period of time, is Santa Monica. Now I had one contact in LA at this time, it was through the friend of a friend and we never spoke or met. I just got his number the night before I caught a ride from San Fran to LA. So he dropped me off in Santa Monica and I hung around the main square for a bit before deciding to call this contact. When I called he said I could stay with him, which was clutch. I asked him where to meet up and he said that he lives in LA but works in Santa Monica on the main square. I asked where exactly and he said in an architecture firm right above a coffee shop with a noticable sign. And where was I standing? About a half a block from said coffee shop. Boom, I knew this was going to be an amazing experience. And it was. From that point on it was all smooth sailing (well mostly) and a brilliant time and memory.
