ABOUT ME

I'm 25 very active and outdoorsy, I work as a civil/environmental engineer in drainage and stormwater projects. I have lots of bikes, which I use for commuting, touring and mountainbiking. I love hiking and adventuring, recently i've taken up trail running too. I also ski, ice skate, snowshoe, kayak play soccer, frisbee, you name it. When I'm tired from work & play i like a good feast, burritos, pizza, lasagna, ice cream, beer and a movie/ show. to fall asleep i read the economist or my current book.

PHILOSOPHY

I love adventures and am generally a joking kinda guy, I don't take myself too seriously. I believe in honesty and fairness and I try to have a positive influence in the world.

I have surfed and hosted, it's by far my favorite way to travel!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Up to now my couch surfing experience has been mostly with friends scattered across the country & globe. I'm expanding my horizons.

Running, road biking, mountain biking, hiking, skiing (xc & telemark) engineering (bridges & water). I like to read up on current events, philosophy and economics.(generally learn about new ideas).
I've visited Scotland ( I grew up there, does that count?), Norway, Iceland, France, Canada, and a ton of U.S. states.

I love to laugh first and foremost. My favorite movies are The Big Lebowski, Cone Heads, Office Space etc. i generally enjoy sketch comedy shows like snl & monty python and mockumentaries such as the office, parks and recs best in show etc. As for books I like Catch 22 and current affairs, economics and philosophy books. I'm not really a passionate music listener. My general rule of thumb on entertainment is; I like to laugh or learn something.

I recently finished a 24hr mountain bike race which was really fun. I worked for a summer at Mount Rainier National Park in Washington after college and had many amazing experiences hiking and biking around. In particular the sunrise on the glaciers high on the mountain is a sight I will never forget.

I'm an engineer I'm fascinated by how things work. if anyone wants to learn about waste water, bridges etc. I'd be happy to share what I know. I've been known to get a bit excited at the opportunity.

I love fixing things/ solving practical problems, fixing bikes is one of my hobbies, i can cook but i rely on recipes quite a bit.
