Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have couchsurfed once, and would love to do so again when the time comes. For now, however, I am not traveling, and would like to have my first hosting experience now that I have a decently-furnished apartment.

Interests

People, cultures, engineering/physics, technology, books, traveling (maybe kind of obvious), learning about mostly anything, cooking, movies, TED/TEDx talks, Engineers Without Borders, various board games, ultimate frisbee, (I'll try out most games/sports), and if you haven't figured it out yet...ranting.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: most, if not all, works by Asimov, Shakespeare, Dickens, Verne, Dahl, Poe (I'm sure there are others if I spend a bit more time thinking about it...)
Some favorite books: Asimov's Foundation and Robot series, Battlefield Earth, The Kite Runner, War and Peace, Harry Potter series, Ben Franklin's autobiography, America the Book, Politically Correct Bedtime Stories (I'll stop before I run out of space).
Movies: Disney/Pixar, Miyazaki, 300, Dark Knight, Pay it Forward, History of the World Part I, The Man from Earth, The Last Samurai, Patton, Braveheart, some romantic comedies aren't bad either though I can't think of any right now. I'll basically watch anything, I don't really like horror, but if it's good, I'll watch that too.
Music: Bollywood/Hindi, Classic Rock, Jason Mraz,
'foreign' music (Arabic, German, Japanese), Disney, anything else Pandora decides I like. I would say generally songs are judged on an individual basis. Not really a fan of any metal/screamo, etc

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been alive 25 years...there are way too many amazing things I've seen, maybe not as many I've done. I'll have to think about this some more perhaps before coming up with a better response.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'll learn whatever you have to teach me and I will teach whatever you would like to learn that I know. Specifically, I find it interesting to teach random engineering/science principles to people. As you might see ^, I am sort of all over the place when it comes to things in which I'm interested. I would like to learn more art-type things: drawing/pottery would be nice - I am not artistic at all.
