About Me

CURRENT MISSION
Travelling With my lovely lady Tina through the fjords of Norge. Bought a cheap van with some mechanical problems, then solved them and had fun putting it together as a Mo Ho With solar Power and woodburning stove, just in time before I set of to travel with it I met Tina at a halloween party, she had just ditched her working life and was heading out to Zanzibar, so I re routed and took a flight out there instead, after some months there we came back to Scotland to earn a little then got a Ferry to Holland, a quick trip through Holland and Germany, a week in Denmark and now we are in Norway, heading ever North, (until we must go South again).
Now heading south through Sweden with winter hot (cold, really) on our tail, crisp and clear in the north, now wet and soggy in the south, heading to Copenhagen then on to Berlin for winter.
ABOUT ME

I'm a life long traveler, skateboarder, surfer and cyclist, interested in new people, good times, new ideas and good conversation.

PHILOSOPHY

Anihilism! My own creation.... A belief in everything (the opposite of nihilism) that I see as the way through the fundamentalist I'm right - your wrong polar politics, alienating us from each other by branding each others beliefs as nonsense if they do not tally with our own. Respecting every ones beliefs and being able to engage them to hear yours.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've constantly sought causes to participate in through skateboarding, music, writing and wild living. Have been a good guest (I hope) in Argentina and Chile on my enaugeral trip there, now hope to host while I am back in Scotland.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Although I've just joined couch surfer I've been doing it for years through friends and friends of friends, contributing by cooking cleaning and fixing things, always happy with a cuppa, couch or sleep mat. The South Americans were super kind to me as I travelled through, I hope to do what I can for couchers here.

Interests

Skateboarding both as spo-art and radical culture, surfing similar, with its environmental edge. The politics of the planet and disclosing the conspiracies behind the manufactured headlines. Sustainable living with hard physical work replacing the wasteful convenience culture that fails to really nourish us. Most of all philosophy, using our collective intelligence to work through the issues ailing us, engaging with each other in empathy to find the way through.

Music, Movies, and Books

Funk of the seventies as a core to my music, I've played this in clubs for years, and hope to do so traveling with my portable set-up, along with jazz, reggae, rock and soul. Love film and have broad interests through my work with Edinburgh Film Fest, everything from blockbusters like Gravity, Prometheus and Avatar to cult flix like They live, six degrees of separation and Cronnenberg films. Books I enjoy are largely biographies or history, for fiction it tends to need a good grounding in fact to draw me in. Oh cloud atlas book and film.... exellent!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing massive swells being rode at Puerto Escondido mexican pipeline at sunset on the last day of 1999.
The northern lights over Aberdeenshire while hitchhiking to a friends stag party.
UFO's over western Australia while camping.
Sneaking into Machu Pichu overnight commando style (twice)
Seeing a mumified infant alien in andahuaylillas peru.

Teach, Learn, Share

Very interested in the state of the world just now, what we are doing and where we are going, where we came from and what our true nature is. I love to encounter others who are enthused by these topics..............Am still interested, but gotta stop listening to the 'News', just pisses me off, especially now I am back in the U.K (not a free Scotland)
