About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm a people person. I love to have adventures and try new things with new people. I love good food and dogs. I also love sleeping - it's my super power.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I've had the best experiences couch surfing! One of the best places was a private tent in a backyard in Rochester, NY, one block from the Gandhi Center... then on Key West at an organic foodie house... then in Denver for the 2008 DNC with my veggie diesel car... then in Montague when I just landed here at an epic community house. When I travel, I want the *local* experience. I want to feel the pace of life and meet real people. I just bought a house, and already have had 6 house guests! I live on an island in a beautiful valley want to share the wealth.

Interests

I love crafting and tinkering, especially using natural and primitive materials. I love to grow trees and fruits and vegetables. I enjoy hiking and paddling and swimming... and sports like frisbee and soccer... and I'm getting in to acro yoga. I also like to read, alot.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once, when I was walking home from a friend's house in Costa Rica, I saw the same bolt of lightning - really like a cloud o lightning - appear in the same place in the sky, every 15 seconds or so, for over 20 minutes. It was amazing.

Once, when I was living at a camp in Stokes State Forest in northwest Jersey, one of the professors there took me for a walk around the lake to check out the perch (fish) eggs. When we got to the bank where they were, the eggs were small and clear with dark dots in the middle. But if you crouched down and looked really close, you could see, in each tiny egg, 2 eyes, 1 tail and a tiny beating heart... it was like seeing a million million universes.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Yummy fruit leather, dog walking (with joy!), conversation w/ a practical optimist
