About Me

Hi!

My name is Goh Kurosawa, international touring musician (guitar/pedals/sing/bands/beatbox).

GK recent history:
Playing at Homeboy Industries (the largest gang rehabilitation program in the world) for Christmas Fest 2021, I have completed concerts and workshops in US, Brazil, Mexico, Cuba, Canada, France, and Asia. Places I have performed include festivals (for community building, world music, jazz, rock, classical music), schools, forests, temples in Japan, pagodas in Myanmar, churches, museums, embassy affiliated events, and the streets along the US west coast plus Route 66. During the pandemic I started Across Waters; an ongoing online event for live music plus multi-cultural discussions with people in Japan, US, and beyond.

Other than music, I enjoy swimming, cooking, and variations of pull up bar exercises which many would refer to as calisthenics (ex. without releasing the bar I can do 5 muscle ups, 5 straight bar dips, 5 perfect pull ups, and 5 leg raises). In a 25m lap swimming pool, I can swim 75m underwater with one breathe, I have completed an Ironman in Brazil, and I enjoy eating.

I used to host before the pandemic; I am starting to tour again, and when the timing is right, I would consider hosting once again.

Looking forward to meeting you; above all, stay healthy.

Take care of you!
Goh

Scott Yanow (journalist for AllMusic & LA Jazz Scene) expresses:
"International touring musician Goh Kurosawa's music is beyond any simple classification. The guitarist improvises melodically, is open to the influences of pop, rock, flamenco, classical, Latin and Japanese music, and has his own musical identity. Equally skilled on electric and acoustic guitars, he uses electrical devices to create a wide range of sounds yet is not shy to embrace a pretty melody; Goh's set included Bob Marley's No Women No Cry, My Family My Friends (original), a Japanese folk song, and Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah (which he sang)."
