One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I completed my degree. I decided I wanted to not just learn, but to experience. My curiosity pushed myself to break my comfort zone... And the next two years became an unforgettable and wonderful experience I will never change.

I learnt even more, invaluable things, experiences that I will take with me in my day-to-day life wherever I venture to in the world. We need to go to places we have never been before, and experience situations that are so alien to us, to remind us how incredibly fascinating our planet is, and how little we know.

I was given the opportunity to volunteer in a hostel in Edinburgh. This was a magical chance for me, as I was able to live at the hostel, rent free, in exchange for me working for a couple hours a day. There was a continuous stream of people from many walks of life. I did not think I would be able to get along with so many individuals from so many places in such a short time. There were forty of us living and working in the hostel, and in the end, even though we were so diverse, we became an incredible family. It was a life rewarding experience. I have with me a bunch of joyful, cozy and profound memories I will keep in my heart. (homemade meals altogether, daytrips, gathering in the park...)

Being there helped me to understand that I am someone who wants to give new and inclusive ideas, and bring better things to the world to build a brighter future for all of us.
