ABOUT ME

Hard to say ALL ABOUT ME... but here are some ideas of how I see myself: a nice, smart and dreamy guy.

I was born in Guatemala and currently live back Home after finishing my postgrad studies!

I am very interested in the Academia and reading. I am great at talking, going out for drinks and eating out! I don't do sports but I do enjoy going swimming and biking. for long I have wanted to start yoga but only have taken some courses. Most of the time I am reading history books and Romanticist authors. I like going out to bars and gossiping and I love using most of my student savings to travel.

I am very attracted to melancholic and romantic things (from cello, to nice cafés, to long walks, to existentialist writings). I am a good listener and love staring at conversations in near tables.

I am easily frightened and have never being involved in a fight (yes I have never been hit in the face yet! hahaha). I am also easily offended by stupidity and get socially uncomfortable with pretentious groups or people who tries too hard to look "cool".

I am sometimes a perfectionist and like having things clean. However, my life during the last couple years is full of spontaneous and unpredicted chaotic decisions!

I value a lot solitude and don't enjoy being in crowds.

I support support marijuana legalization and respect a lot an individual's freedom to do as he pleases with his life. So I am an extremist in regard to liberalism and completely disagree with any type of social conservative ideas. :S

That being said, I am a very nice, friendly and easy going guy. I love reading and most of my time you will see me going through a couple books.

Some background info:
I was born in Guatemala. I finished a MSc in Global Studies in Denmark in 2013.

I'm homosexual and do not discriminate against heterosexuals in any way. :)

PHILOSOPHY

Soy un defensor de la libertad individual, el libre mercado racional y la búsqueda de crear un estado de derecho en el que todos podamos desarrollarnos en igualdad, paz, fraternidad y comunidad. Creo que el trabajo duro en equipo, la autoestima y el amor por nuestra familia son la energía primaria para la generación de riqueza en nuestras comunidades. Busco la objetividad y la razón en la epistemología y considero que el valor supremo por el que se deben medir los juicios de valor éticos es el valor de la vida humana. Considero la vida el más alto valor; pero no cualquier tipo de vida, sino la vida que se vive buscando la felicidad en ausencia de coerción o privilegios.

Creo que no hay humanos, razas, culturas o pensamientos mejores o superiores. Sin embargo, sí creo que hay argumentos erróneos e irracionales que deben ser combatidos en el campo de las ideas. Así, también creo que enseñar y practicar una vida sin argumentos místicos y contradicciones filosóficas es una herramienta imprescindible para demostrar que la búsqueda de la felicidad sí es posible y no es una utopía. Creo que los fundamentos del capitalismo laissez-faire proveen de las herramientas necesarias para crear un mejor futuro. Pero también acepto que los privilegios heredados y existentes, las injusticias cometidas en el pasado, las guerras y la actual moral contradictoria e irracional de las elites son el principal enemigo para que este sistema funcione. Por eso, considero que es necesario y FUNDAMENTAL estudiar la historia de manera objetiva, global, consistente y que luego, se realicen las reparaciones necesarias y posibles con aquellas naciones, pueblos, grupos y personas que han sido afectados. Creo que solo empezando con una consciencia limpia se puede empezar a construir un futuro limpio.

Finalmente, creo que solo cuando logremos hacer una revolución moral que nos enseñe las herramientas para buscar la felicidad podremos vivir en paz respetando los principios éticos y jurídicos, la libre autodeterminación de los pueblos, la verdad y la justicia, y la tolerancia cultural de un planeta con infinitas y variadas costumbres y tradiciones.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am open to requests to go out for drinks, walking, museum sightseeing and out for coffees and drinks!

I love hosting people and learning from the global experiences, their different cultures and personalities! I find couchsurfing an ideal place to really join a global village!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I did my first couchsurfing in 2010 while visiting Fort Lauderdale and had lots of fun! It was a very happy time and I met great friendly guys who hosted me!

I have also joined and met in the local couchsurfer groups in the regions in which I have been living since 2011. I moved back to Guatemala in 2014 and I live with my boyfriend.
