About Me

CURRENT MISSION

LIVE FOREVER!!!!! (or die trying)

ABOUT ME

"anything at all." That sounds ominous... so, I'm sort of a jack of all trades, who comes from a rural area of Ontario. Didn't really do a whole lot of traveling till I went to college, than found that I really enjoyed and decided to just go for 15 months to Australia and South East Asia. Now I'm just spending my time saving up for my next adventure, and trying to meet some other travelers in my area.

I'm interested in a lot of different hobbies, and always interested in trying new things. You really shouldn't knock something until you've tried it. That being said, I have a lot of stuff around my place which I will never use again.

I like to go on random trips, sometimes for no reason other than the fact that I can. I have been over a lot of Canada, and love being outdoors. I have never been lost, although I was once confused for several days.

PHILOSOPHY

If time is infinte, and energy is the root of all matter, than anything is possible. If anything is possible, than nothing is impossible, and so there's no reason that you can't go out and live your dreams.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

After over a year of surfing, it's now my turn to even out karma and offer other travelers a place to stay. I like to meet people, and am hoping to pass the favour back to other random csers in the area.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been couchsurfing for almost three years now. During that time I have couchsurfed with some spectacular people from all over the world. Spent alot of time on couches in Australia and SE Asia.

At this point, I am trying to meet some of the local couchsurfers that are in my area, and any other couchsurfers who are coming to my hometown.

I'm a huge fan or meeting people, and love to learn from and talk to pretty much everybody.

Interests

Acts of lunacy, including, but not limited to: climbing, hiking, canoeing, rafting, kayaking, music (listening and playing), poi, meteor, fire arts, cooking, talking to strangers and eating their candy.

Oh, and of course traveling, but that should go without saying.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Some of my favourites are Serenity, Donnie Darko, Snatch, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Idiocracy, Fight Club, Boondock Saints, Old School, Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean, Dogma, Clerks, Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, I'm sure there are more, but I just can't think of them.
There aren't a whole lot of movies that I really don't like.

Music: I'm pretty ambiguous when it comes to music, it really depends on my mood. Some of my favourites though are: Nirvana, Led Zeppelin, John Butler Trio, Johnny Cash, Cake, Cat Empire, Lynard Skynard, The Arrogant Worms, Soko, Bob Dylan, Red Hot Chili Peppers, AC/DC, Bob Marley, Sublime, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Muse, Modest Mouse, The Beatles and a lot of others I can't remember right now.

Books: I love to read, and not only to plan for my next trip. Some of my favourites are: The Dark Tower Series by Stephen King, The Bourne Series by Robert Ludlum, The Eagle has Landed and The Eagle has Flown by Jack Higgins, Yes Man, Round Ireland With A Fridge, Emergancy Sex (and other desperate measures), Gods Behaving Badly, Darkly Dreaming Dexter, The Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Crystal Cave, Emergency: This Book Will Save Your Life, Do Travel Writers go to Hell?, and am in the process of reading a book called On The Couch, which is all about... yes, couchsurfing!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

*Hitch-hiked in Australia, and missed the whole "Wolf Creek" horror story; although I lived near where some of the movie was filmed (though I still haven't seen the movie).
*Crossed the street in Phnom Penh, Cambodia; and am still alive to talk about it.
*Lived in the swampy forest of Northern Ontario for a month prospecting in - 30 degree Celsius (warm day) weather.
*I drank the whole thing

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning new things, so anybody who has anything they would like to teach, I'm willing to learn. I am especially interested in learning languages, as it's really hard out here unless you want to learn different dialects of English that are only used in Bruce County.

As for teaching, I've been told that I'm pretty good at poi, and some other fire arts, also I can teach kayaking, canoeing, climbing and any other random knowledge and skills that I have acquired.

I also know how to keep a 1989 express driving through the Australian outback when all it wants to do is die.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Cambodia, Costa Rica, Laos, Thailand

Countries I’ve Lived In
