About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To become what I will become. To continually be curious.
Ethnobotany and Zymology are of great interest to me. How different peoples and cultures respond to their own bioregion and the environmental factors which influence culinary traditions, agricultural practices, spiritual ceremonies, social norms
ie. What do different parts of the world ferment and what plants are they using to heal, eat, play, sing, dance, make love with?
ABOUT ME
I like walks with no purpose. Quiet moments. Fertile hearts.
My clock is set by feel.
I am a learning farmer currently practicing in the state of Vermont. I have a background in Ecological Design and diversified agriculture. But im currently working with young folks, teaching about life and ethics through agriculture while digging in the dirt.
I really enjoy fermenting a lot of things and have made products such as: beer, wine, mead, kombucha, sauerkraut, kimchi, sourdoughs, beet kasava, ginger beer...
PHILOSOPHY
I believe in God, only I spell it Nature. My most spiritual experiences have been in Nature: Olympia National Forest, Forests of Vermont.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I spread the word about CS to all fellow travelers and one day hope to host many many people.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I spent a wonderfully magical week in Santa Barbara, CA at the Biko Coop. On my first day there I picked fruit form front yards, rode bikes naked, streaked on finals, and dumpster dove my first time. I can confidently say, that week changed my life.
Interests
DIY EVERYTHING from fermentating my own kimchi, pickles, garlic and all tasty veggies, brewing alcohol, kombucha and ginger beer, making my own baked goods, sewing patches, and so many things that we can all do together!
As of late I have dedicated my body and mind to Permauculturing my life. And finding out ways to reduce waste and recycle waste into closed loop systems, creating positive feedback loops.
