Overview
About Me
I have just moved to Athens, GA for graduate school. Previously, I lived in Syracuse, NY for about four years, and before Syracuse it was Arkansas, Costa Rica, Finland, and a few other short stints in other places. I've loved them all for very different reasons.
"I'd like to go by climbing a birch tree, And climb black branches up a snow-white trunk Toward heaven, till the tree could bear no more, But dipped its top and set me down again. That would be good both going and coming back. One could do worse than be a swinger of birches."
- Robert Frost, Birch Trees
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Life is too short. It's too short to waste my time worrying and getting caught up in meaningless stress and unfortunately too short to see and meet all the amazing places and people I so want to see and meet, but I'll be damned if I don't keep on trying to live a life full of all the good things. Couchsurfing is part of how I'm trying.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
During my stay in Costa Rica, I witnessed a cow give birth. Just me, watching the cow. Kinda crazy and amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have wonderful first-hand experience, in addition to my studies, on the ecology of Arkansas, the Southwest and Northeast of the USA, and Costa Rica.
I wrote my religion thesis on Science and Spirituality. I find Ursula Goodenough incredibly moving. I've been so focused on biology lately, that I've begun missing my wanderings into comparative religion. Ask me questions. Get me going again.
I want so badly to know more of literature, philosophy, film, and art. Teach me.
It has been years since I lived in Costa Rica, but I would love to practice my Spanish.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would love to make you a meal, some coffee or tea, and discuss traveling, global citizenry, science-denial or anything else that piques our interest.
