About Me

I am a hard working single parent to two wonderful children. I love to be outdoors, hiking, kayaking, frisbee golf... I enjoy creating music as well as witnessing live shows. Living healthy is important to me (although not over the top, you have to live a little). Gardening is something I really enjoy. I want to produce as much of my own food as possible, raising animals and plants year round.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy meeting new people and creating new experiences. I like to host and have plenty of space to do so. I don't travel a lot currently due to my demanding job and children, but would like to have options when I do travel.

Interests

Anything outside-hiking, canoeing, biking, skating, 4 wheelers, running, swimming..
Gardening-urban farming...
Being a good parent
Cooking -being creative and working with seasonal items
Being independent, able to fix my own issues( like cars and electrical plumbing etc) if I don't know how to fix something I want to learn how.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Bluegrass and Jazz music, although I appreciate all types of music.
I like goofy comedy movies and documentaries lately.
The French laundry, other intriguing chef stories. I love to learn. I also read a ton of kids books with my kids of course.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Backpacked through Europe for a month. Visited 7 countries via the eurorail. I had a great time meeting people in hostiles and traveling with friends. Sight seeing and creating new experiences.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to teach culinary skills as I am a chef. I love to learn anything I can expose myself to. I will share what I know, and am generous with what I have.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Skills possibly... I love to cook. Joyful conversation and interesting story swapping. I am fairly skilled with home repair as I have restored my house, and continue to fix problems as they arise. I consider myself handy in the garden as well.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, England, France, Germany, Mexico, Netherlands, Switzerland

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
