Overview
About Me
I'm an adventurous and sporadic person. I enjoy new experiences and people even though I come off as a shy person at first. I'm doing some landscape work over the summer while look at Masters programs for the spring. I'm hoping to be a post secondary biology teacher.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
One of the best things about traveling is mingling with the people. I think couch surfing is a great way meet awesome people and make lasting memories.
Interests
I have too many. I love animation, writing, and music. I spend a lot of my free time sketching and writing. I also play the guitar and just purchased a violin. Hopefully my dog doesn't mind how bad I am at first.
I try to stay pretty active and love to hike and camp when I can. I am currently training for a triathlon in August. It's tough to workout after working in 90 degree weather all day :P

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - I have a very broad taste in music. Some of my favorite artists are Jack Johnson, Joe Hisaishi, The Mountain Goats, Childish Gambino, Muse, Ingrid Michaelson, and Dean Martin. I like most music, except for country.
Movies - I love everything Studio Ghibli. My top 5 movies are Princess Mononoke, Hitch, Pride & Prejudice, The Count of Monte Cristo, and Your Name.
Books - My Favorite Author is Neil Gaiman. I'm particularly fond of his novel Neverwhere and The Ocean at the End of the Lane. My favorite series is Harry Potter. I try to read a book or two every month, but I'm more of a sporadic binge reader. I normally will go a couple months without reading then read 5 books in one month. I love fantasy thrillers.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I snorkeled off the coast of Yakushima, Japan. Oh, and I ate a really good burrito one time.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm more introspective than outgoing, but that has made me a great listener. I have a ton of interests, and prefer to have more meaningful conversations so let's grab a beer, or a bite to eat, and talk.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My sage wisdom on traveling. An Adventure. One of my culinary wonders (seriously, let's cook together).....Also, I'd love to buy you a meal or gift as a token of gratitude.
