About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I love living in the now, and acknowledging something meaningful to remember every day
ABOUT ME
My life journey has had interesting twists and turns, peaks and valley's and loops that brought me right back to where I began to start all over again.
My greatest learning has typically been through actions that others deem "mistakes"! But I love all of my learning, even the painful lessons, and I wouldn't change any of it.
I had a "bucket list" long before the movie, and have enjoyed that my ideas and dreams have turned into rich friendships which are the greatest treasures in my life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I began surfing with my son in May, 2010. Since then, I've both hosted and surfed.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first CS experience was grand and exceeded my expectations. Great people, great hosting, great friendships.
Between Sept. 2010 and Feb. 2011, I surfed through a few countries in Europe, then 3 months in India, time in Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia. It was truly an incredible time that solidified my belief in the gift that couchsurfing is!!!
From 2010-2018, I lived abroad working in the international development arena.
Between contracts, I traveled for extended periods. I returned to the United States via a private yacht, crusing through the South Pacific. It took 5 months to get from Port Vila, Vanuatu to the Philippines.
Interests
My interests are very varied, really!
*I enjoy the extremes of five star hotels and camping under the stars.
*Fine wine, to drinking whatever brand is cold.
*Riding a motorcycle and riding a horse
*A meal of apples, cheese, bread and wine and creating a lovely 5-course meal.
*I like to read, have background music playing as I putter around the house or prepare dinner.
*I don't watch much TV, which means I'm clueless about professional sports, sit-coms or American Idol...although I love to play tennis, charades and piano!

Music, Movies, and Books
I like being introduced to random films/books that others recommend. I recently read Before We Were Yours, and I loved Where the Crawdads Sing.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
After my husband died of cancer (at age 36), I was left to raise my (then) 6 year old son on my own. In an effort to created a new 2-member family and leave the pain of a tumultuous and stressful time, I pulled my son out of the public school system, packed us up, and backpacked around the world for 9 months. After that first excursion, every two years or so we'd find a new area of the world to explore.
It was the kick off to other worldly experiences and a shared life with great admiration for each other. We now continued to celebrate each others' lives on parallel paths of our own journey's...mine continues while his is just beginning.
Teach, Learn, Share
In one way or another, I've been a educator all my life, and will share anything that I know...I play piano, sew, and have been taking Indian cooking lessons.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Excitement for life. Good energy. Positive outlook. Languages, conversations about anything.
