About Me

Hi everyone! I am a 24 year old Canadian travelling through Europe this summer. I just completed my Master's degree and am starting law school in September 2016. I like the idea of visiting as many countries as possible before I have to start school again.

I am very social. I love meeting new people, hearing new stories and chatting endlessly. I would consider myself friendly and laid back.

ABOUT ME

I grew up in the Greater Toronto Area. I have lived in Calgary and Montreal in the last two years. I played junior hockey and lacrosse while in school. I keep busy at school working with my universities athletic department, assisting university research projects, volunteering with the orientation program, and socializing with friends. My only other time outside of North America was when I travelled through South East Asia by myself for 6 weeks before I began my Masters.

I love the people I've met travelling because they have such an open nature about them which is what I'm like normally.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When my mother was my age she hitchhiked and couch surfed her way across Europe on her own. I'm hoping to do the same with the help of the technological advances of the 21st Century and the amazing people from Couchsurfers.

I am travelling on my own and trying to couch surf because I envy the oppourtunity to meet and connect with people from all regions of the world. When I travelled through South East Asia I began my journey by volunteering for a couple weeks. This was the most incredible and eye opening experience of my life. From being awoken by the orchestra of animals under my family’s hut, to witnessing the organization of relationships around reciprocity and the ability of the people of to find happiness in those relationships and not in material possessions, this experience opened my eyes to the tremendous differences we all have in the perception of our world.

I hope that with Couch surfers, I can share a coffee, a meal, a beer, a game, a song, and at the very least a conversation with as many people as possible.

Interests

I'm a big fan of all sports. Whether it is playing on competitive teams (hockey, lacrosse, rugby, volleyball), starting recreational pick up games, watching, or working, sport has fascinated me with its ability to unite, inspire, and develop people from all walks of life.

I only recently started going to concerts, but since my first one just over a year ago I've fallen in love with it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelled every province in Canada. I felt it was important to explore and appreciate what was offered in my own backyard before I began travelling internationally. Now that I've done this, I look forward to exploring as much of the world as I can - meeting as many people as I can.
