Hi all, I study mechanical engineering at the University of Bristol. I’m an outgoing guy and enjoy meeting new people. I love hearing people’s stories and am interested in other cultures and places. I’m always keen to learn; be it making cocktails in Huanchaco, Peru or scuba diving in Sumatra. I have been told that I mumble too much and speak too fast (apologies but I also swear a lot - I blame my Irish mother), I’m working on improving all of this but, in the meantime I am at least very patient with non-native English speakers as we’ve all been in the position of trying to learn another language, it’s tough.

Hola a todos, actualmente estudio ingeniería mecánica en la universidad de Bristol. Soy extrovertido y disfruto hacer nuevos amigos. Me fascina escuchar historias de personas y me interesan otras culturas y lugares. Siempre estoy abierto para aprender, tanto hacer cocktails en Huanchaco, Peru, como aprender buceo en Sumatra (Indonesia) o mejorar mi nivel de español! Me dicen que hablo entre dientes y demasiado rápido (además suelo usar muchas groserías - echo la culpa a mi madre irlandesa). Estoy tratando de mejorar aunque mientras todo eso por lo menos soy muy paciente con personas las que no hablan inglés como lengua materna, estoy en la misma posición por mi español, sé que es duro.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I first discovered Couchsurfing in Peru and Colombia. I’ve found it a really cool way to meet likeminded people, to share information and experiences. Unfortunately, as I live in a single room as part of a student halls of residence I can’t host but don’t hesitate to send me a text if you want a coffee and a friendly face to show you around Bristol.

Utilicé CS por primera vez en Peru y Colombia. Creo que Coachsurfing es una manera chevere/guay de juntarme con personas con ideas afines, compartir información y experiencias. Desafortunadamente, vivo en un cuarto sencillo en alojamiento para estudiantes y por eso no permiten que sea anfitrión, sin embargo no dudes en ponerte en contacto conmigo si quieres un café y juntarse con una persona amigable para conocer la ciudad.

I like all sorts of music from The Smiths, Hozier to Coleman Hawkins ..and of course the Arctic Monkeys - I’m from Sheffield!
Favourite movie is a no-brainer: Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
Favourite books are currently The Rosie Project, Light between the Oceans, Stuff Matters (its nerdy as hell but really good) ..and probably the A Song of Ice and Fire series - you’ve just got to love Game of Thrones.

I’m always happy to help people improve their English, to have a jam on guitar or saxophone (although I haven’t played sax in ages!). I’d love to improve my Spanish or any other language for that matter, and I’m always up for sharing runs, salsa or swing dances and laughs.

I plan to start doing triathlons this year, if you have any experience with this sport please share;)

Me hace feliz ayudar a la gente a mejorar su nivel de ingles, y también tocar juntos en la guitarra o el saxofón pero llevo un rato sin tocarlo. Me encantaría mejorar mi nivel de español ..o de verdad cualquier idioma. Estoy siempre dispuesto en compartir humor, correos y baile (de swing o de salsa).
