I just earned my bachelor's degree from and am now moving to San Jose, CA to pursue my career in physics in Silicon Valley. I am also a musician; I have played piano since I was 8 and willing to teach! I work part time at Banana Republic.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I will soon be making the journey from my hometown in North Carolina to the Bay area and would love to meet some great people along the way and lower the cost of the trip! Once I get settled in San Jose, my roommate and I will start hosting as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

My personal taste tends toward modern pop/rock/alternative/hip hop, though I am a classically trained pianist and percussionist so I can appreciate pretty much anything. My favorite movies include everything Pixar and comedies. I am currently reading the most recent Game of Thrones book and am on the last season of Mad Men. House of Cards is next.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I studied abroad in Sydney, Australia in the first half of 2014, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I traveled everywhere - Melbourne, Tasmania, Cairns (the reef), New Zealand, and the Whitsunday Islands. I met so many amazing people from across the globe, who introduced me to this wonderful community of travelers!
