Overview
About Me
Hello! I'm a 21 year old student in Washington, D.C., though I grew up in western Massachusetts. I am currently working on a degree in Communication Studies with a minor in Education Studies. Along with being a student, I work at an after school program at a local elementary school 4 days a week. I'm passionate about education and hope to work in education reform.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because I really enjoy experiencing new cultures and meeting new people. When I go to a new place, I like to make memories with people and share the experience. Talking about past travel experiences and where I would like to go in the future is one of my favorite topics of conversation. Couchsurfing is a great way to accomplish all of this!
Interests
My interests include traveling, soccer, tennis, photography, watching movies, trying new food, and listening to and creating (all kinds of) music. I am in an a cappella group at my university, and singing/songwriting is a big hobby of mine. I also love doing anything outdoors, from kayaking to hiking to swimming.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I love indie pop, indie folk, electronic/chillstep, some country, alternative R&B- I like to think I have a fairly broad music taste.
Movies: Comedies are my favorite! Bridesmaids, The Heat, and Pitch Perfect.. Some other favorites are Her, Avatar, Heavyweights, and the Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Also a huge sucker for the Hunger Games Movies
Books: I can't say I read for pleasure all that much, though the last book I read (besides re-reading the Harry Potters) was the book Orange is the New Black was based on.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was 15, I spent a week on the San Blas Islands in Panama where I stayed in a hut, slept in a hammock, snorkeled at a shipwreck, and pooped in the most rustic bathroom I've ever seen.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm probably not as well-traveled as many people on here, but I can certainly share stories from the travels I have been lucky enough to have! I would also be more than willing to share anything you'd like to know about American culture/politics, and if you happen to be a musician, I'd love to have a jam sesh :) I also like to think I am fairly well-mannered and would try to be as considerate a guest as possible. Likewise, if I were to host someone, I would try to provide as much as I am able to.
