About Me

Hello,

My name is Connor. I love music, psychology, and neuroscience. I like to play music and rock climb in my free time. I am also really interested in Buddhism and mindfulness meditation. I work as a Behavioral Health Specialist in a substance abuse recovery unit.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy meeting locals and getting the local experience whilst travelling. I love learning about the culture and language of the countries I travel. I also really like connecting with people around the world and just listening to other people's stories.

I also really enjoy hosting people. The excitement and love that I have for my town is renewed when I am able to show someone all the cool spots.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am going through a music phase. But, I always find myself returning to Nirvana, Fleet Foxes, Animal Collective, Other Lives, Tame Impala, MGMT, and Mild High Club.

I am not a huge movie/tv buff. But, I like Wes Anderson films and Miyazaki. I also like Game of Thrones and Avatar:The Last Airbender/Legend of Korra.

I mostly read school books these days. I am also slowly reading through the Dhammapada. Anything by Mark Epstein is good. 10% Happier brought me into my interest of Buddhism and really opened up a lot of doors for me. I'd like to find some time to read a good fiction book. I enjoyed The Alchemist.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This is definitely a tough question. More recently, I would have to say, spending ten days in New Zealand. Snowboarding at Treble Cone and Cardrona BLEW MY MIND.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to rock climb- though I am not spectacular. I love talking about neuroscience, psychology, and Buddhism. I love exchanging music.
