About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Have some adventures.
ABOUT ME
I am first and foremost a student, and will forever be one. I love learning about everything and everyone, but biology and music are the two things that really keep me going. I love adventure and exploration, whether that is going places physically or vicariously through books. I relish a good conversation. Just some random facts about me: I love to play the saxophone. My goal in life is to make a career out of studying amphibians. Herping (photographing/catching reptiles and amphibians), climbing, and hiking are some of my favorite pastimes. I love meeting new people. I write every chance I get, and I love cooking!
PHILOSOPHY
Question everything and learn as much as I can in the short time I'm here. I live by the philosophy that a person only gets better at something when they surround themselves with people who are better than them at what it is they want to do.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I'll listen to most anything. Lately I've been on a classical kick with Russian composers like Rachmaninov and Shostakovich, and I always have some Snarky Puppy jams ready. Other stuff I've been into is modern folk/indie, punk and hip hop. Tell me who I should be listening to.
Movies: I'm pretty all over the place. O, Brother Where Art Thou, and The Big Lebowski are two of my favorite movies, so I guess I'm a Cohen brothers fan, haha.
Books: The Mistborn Trilogy, The Kingkiller Chronicles, J.R.R. Tolkien, The Harry Potter series, (just fantasy in general), any field guide or non-fiction book on evolution (or really any science book that is well-written), Michael Crichton's great... always open to suggestions!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I lived in Belize for 7 weeks, working as a herpetofauna (reptiles and amphibian) field tech intern. It's been my life dream to be able to study tropical reptiles and amphibians, and this first experience was amazing. I was able to contribute to conservation efforts while also interacting with the locals by giving music lessons to children from the local village. It was a wonderful experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I guess I have a fair amount of musical knowledge and love to impart it on others. I love talking about frogs and cool nature things with anyone curious. I like learning about new bands, and experiencing different cultures. I want to learn about local cooking techniques.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love to talk about biology and music. Sometimes I travel with my saxophone, so I might play something for you! If you want a cooking partner, I love to cook. (Although my skills aren't exactly Top Chef worthy)
At the very least I'll be a grateful guest.
