About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To seek new experiences, meet new friends, learn about you and share about me.
ABOUT ME
I like exploring, getting to know new people, having fun and spontaneous adventures in new places. I've spent a couple years traveling since college and now I'm all semi-settled and teaching 8th graders science.
PHILOSOPHY
be good. be curious. don't worry. have fun.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Surf when I'm moving, hosting while I'm home!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I used CS a ton as I traveled around the world through Central Asia and Central Africa, then hosted a bit over the past two years at home in Seattle. It's such an awesome network, when it's used well, and I'm looking forward to meeting some more awesome people in Central America!
Interests
My interests fall under three categories:
1) I love to eat things. My favorite part of travel is wandering around a new place and eating anything that I see that I've never tried before.
2) I love to meet new people and learn about what they do and why. One of the coolest parts of traveling is seeing that humans are everywhere and we're all fundamentally the same but we do and think different things because of how we were raised and what we've experienced.
3) I love to do fun things outdoors, things like hiking, biking, climbing, skiing, snowboarding, dogsledding, paddling, running, swimming, exploring, whatever. (I'm currently building a kayak in my living room, so please excuse the mess...)
Oh yeah, and I like science, too. And teaching science. I think all of the above fall under that. Science is all about figuring out how the world works!
Music, Movies, and Books
anything that makes me think. I like reading books about the places that I'm in or the places that I'll be going. I don't hold onto books I've read, I generally just pass them to the next person or trade for something new. I'm always open to suggestions and would love to see what you're reading!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In Nepal I saw and helped an entire village, from tiny kids to old men and women, carry stones to rebuild the local school. No one was being paid, it was just because they all knew they needed the school. That's community. I like that. It's not seen as often in the US anymore.
Teach, Learn, Share
Hmm... I can teach you to juggle? I'm also pretty good at figuring out how to fix things... Sometimes.
