About Me
I love to travel to explore other people, places and myself. I love music and nature, have been working with international volunteers and freelancing in adult education before I quit my job in 2014 and started to travel and work on the way. Since April 2016 have I been in Iceland, working and staying with Icelanders and exploring this beautiful country in my selfmade campervan.
When I had an appartment, I frequently gave away or rented out one of my two rooms to guests or friends of friends. Nowadays "all" I can offer is a ride in my car and a sleep on the bottom of it which I do whenever someone likes.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It's a great way to explore foreign countries and getting to know personal perspectives on the place I'm in at the same time - or, as a host, get internationals and their perspectives into my everyday-life.
Interests
Well I always have my clarinet wih me and love to be outside. I like to move/ travel in places with great nature; I have been on the road more or less for the ast 2,5 years and I'm not yet finished with it:) On the contrary, it sometimes feels as if I'd just begun. My selfmade campervan fits all I need and want.
I love to learn - especially about naure, animals, myself and others, and languages. I am teaching myself Icelandic now (suported by a bunch of lovely Icelanders:) ) and am able to orientate on Icelandic in everyday life which makes me proud. Language is a door to people's hearts.
And I started to search and find my inner peace and much inner healing - basically in myself, supported by buddhistic traditions. A long but very interesting way to go:).

Music, Movies, and Books
Musicwise I'm quite diverse; it has to have HEART. I keep coming back to Klezmer, Sting and Lauryn Hill over the years.
For movies I generally don't care much; I do love 'Garden State'.
Coming to books I used read a lot, mostly socio-psychological stuff and the odd novel. For the last five months I've only read Icelandic study books, orðabók, Andrés Önd og Múminálfarnir;)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Quit my job at a time in my life when people in my surrounding started to get seriously "established" and go abroad without knowing how long or where I'd end up and when I'd come back to Germany. (I'm still on the way :) )
Teach, Learn, Share
I guess I know some about music, languages, adult education and travelling and simplifying your life and am very willing to share this:)
As with learning, I am not looking for something special. I just like to meet people in their personal surrounding to make friends and better understand the society of the country I am in.
