Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm leaving the U.S. in July to travel the world indefinitely. I'm leaving things pretty open and just travelling wherever I feel.

Music, Movies, and Books

I've got pretty broad music tastes, but some of my favorite bands are LCD Soundsystem, Alt-J, Beirut and Fleet Foxes. American Country music is about the only thing I can't stand.

I've a Rashomon-related tattoo, so definitely a big Kurosawa fan. I tend to like the kinda snootier movies, but I absolutely love a good brainless action movie every once in while. Can't have the Coens without the Wachowskis. Other favorites include Submarine, Let the Right One In, and most of Wes Anderson's stuff.

My favorite author is Haruki Murakami. Just love his brand of fiction. Also love In Truman Capote, Kurt Vonnegut and Albert Camus. Definitely tore through all of the Ice and Fire books at one point.

But above all I just love discovering new culture! Please, share!

I've hiked 50 miles through Switzerland, sleeping in farmer's barns.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you just about anything you want to know about photography. Not just taking photos, but different kinds of cameras and the editing process. I'm a pretty average guitar player, but happy to teach basic cords or songs. I'm a pretty good cook and I can bake a mean loaf of bread if you have a couple days. Get me on a ski hill and I can definitely show you some things.

I would love to learn local recipes and and whatever languages you can teach me. Always willing to learn more about music, especially guitar.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Being a photographer I'd be more than happy to get a new profile photo for you, or get some updated photos of your place! Just don't expect a whole fashion shoot, of course.

I can help cook and clean, definitely not very picky around the kitchen. If you've got an oven I can make bread as well.
