Sobre mí

I'm Conor McCarthy, and I am 26 years old from California. I find inspiration in the beauty of the unknown. My purpose in life is to fearlessly embrace every moment, living authentically and cultivating a life of adventure and service.

I graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in finance and upon graduation I began working in tech sales for a big corporation. While I loved the people I worked with I quickly realized it was not the life I wanted and was planning my exit. While I was working remotely in Medellin Colombia, I was let go from my role, which was the biggest blessing in disguise of my life. Since then I have been following my passions and dreams by traveling around the world, teaching english, working at hostels and enjoying life.

I love surfing, learning Spanish, the outdoors and of course traveling! Looking forward to getting to know you and hearing your stories.

Algo increíble que he hecho

One of my most amazing experiences was buying a motorbike in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh) in Vietnam and driving all the way up the country. The best part of the experience was all the amazing people I met along the way. Particularly in the more rural parts of Vietnam staying in Homestay with amazing people. Some of whom took us in when we were having bike trouble or it was getting dark. I ended the trip by selling the bike to a lovely couple all the way in the north of Vietnam in Hanoi!

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Business with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Economics from the University of Oregon, where I maintained a strong 3.5 GPA. Additionally, I am a certified TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) teacher, which has equipped me with valuable communication and teaching skills.

My diverse work background includes experiences such as a dishwasher in Eugene, Oregon, and working in various roles at a hotel in Yosemite National Park, where I handled tasks ranging from star gazing guide to front desk responsibilities. I've also served as a tour guide at the University of Oregon and contributed to marketing strategies for Genies Inc. During my time in Barcelona, Spain, I worked with Rhombus Global Consulting, where I built websites for clients and managed financial analysis and modeling. Additionally, I have a year of experience teaching English online with Preply and have excelled as a Community Builder with Wifi Tribe in Gran Canaria, ensuring a positive living and working environment for remote workers. Furthermore, I have 3 years of SaaS sales experience as an Account Executive at Oracle, consistently exceeding targets and mentoring new hires.

Giving back to communities is important to me. I volunteered with Walking Tree Travel in Mexico, where I painted an orphanage and engaged in community service. In St. Louis, I organized and initiated a Lacrosse program for an inner-city school through Loyal Academy, providing opportunities for low-income students to participate in sports they love.

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

I can share my infectious smile, optimistic personality, and goofy sense of humor as well as my appreciation for new experiences and quest for knowledge, I am also happy to help with cooking and weirdly like doing dishes!
