Overview
About Me
An Irish transplant currently living in Strasbourg! Just finished my masters here, and will be starting a PhD on a new treatment for brain cancer in October. Originally from the countryside where I grew up with cows, I now enjoy hiking, ultimate frisbee, and drinking beers after having completed such activities.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm hoping to explore all the great places next to Strasbourg during my weekends and holidays, starting with an interrail trip this September before I start my PhD in October. I also have a big apartment with open housemates, so would love to share it with visitors during my weekends to meet new people and make new friends from everywhere.
Interests
- hiking
- history
- science
- ultimate frisbee

Music, Movies, and Books
Music? I'm an Indie Rock person, maybe Arcade Fire?
Film? Probably Reservoir Dogs.
Books? I am regrettably not very well read, but I just got through 1984 and enjoyed it very much.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Maybe going to Lyon aged 19 alone armed with nothing more than my CV and a determination to stay in France for the summer.
What I Can Share with Hosts
For those maybe interested in Irish history, I can give lessons! And on the flip side, when I'm going to another city, a run through of big events is usually what I'm looking for.
Otherwise, while I'm happy to wander around myself, company is of course appreciated, and I'm always willing to share a beer or two. Then of course Strasbourg is close to everywhere should an opportunity to return the favour arise :)
