About Me

I am a final year university student patiently wading through my final semester so that I can begin my 4 months of traveling before settling and working in Toronto. I grew up in the couch surfing community as my family hosted for years to give back to the community which was so good to my older sister while she travelled the world. Although I have no references myself you will find the link below to her profile which hopefully will give you confidence in my background.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I grew up with my family hosting couch surfers. My sister was part of the community and used it to travel North America. I have very found memories of learning so much from everyone who came and stayed in our home. I am now in a position where i can become a part of that community again and give back to it.

Interests

My approach to traveling has been heavily influenced by my parents when i was growing up. We spent many summers on hiking and camping trips in Ireland. I also do not recall a holiday where we did not first look to stay in a hostel. This gave me the experience of meeting new people as I travel which is one thing which I believe to be the best aspect of travel.

I am interested in all sports and have played both gaelic football and golf at a high level.

  • i love to travel
  • computer programming
  • sports of all kinds

Music, Movies, and Books

I have only recently returned to reading, and have begun on a few autobiographies, i would love and good book suggestions in this genre.

When it comes to movies I would say that i have seen more than my fair share, however have seen embarrassingly few of the classics. I would challenge anybody to a Friends quize however.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I walked the Camino de Santiago de Compostella

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a basic level of Irish and am more than willing to teach the language and culture to anyone willing to listen. Also would love in exchange to learn about your culture.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I believe I can offer interesting discussion about the world and traveling, although only in my early 20s I have traveled quiet a lot and lived in two different countries. I also enjoy lively debate on any topic .

I love to cook so would be able to teach new recipes, possibly from cultures which they have not experienced before.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, England, Italy, Malaysia, Portugal, Scotland, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Trinidad and Tobago, United States, Wales

Countries I’ve Lived In
