ABOUT ME

I was born in Ireland, moved to the UK when I was ten.....most of my later schooling in England.
I spent lot of time traveling around Europe and the world before I went to college in Manchester,lived in some pretty amazing cities, countries. From San Francisco, Santa Cruz , Lake Tahoe California, to Quito Ecuador, San Jose Costa Rica,Antigua Guatemala,Northern Bavaria, Livingstone Zambia, Zanzibar Tanzania and I am now living in Wroclaw Poland.
I used to be an avid skier, having learnt during my few years living in the US Lake Tahoe. Love the outdoors, walking, mountain biking, being on the water is something I enjoy most. Am now learning to Kite surf.

I like horse riding, hacking,Polo Cross.
Looking forward to traveling and educating myself more about the world we live in and so much take for granted.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Spent a lot of time hitching in the United States and so got the opportunity to travel a lot and many times I would get a bed to sleep in, so the genuine hospitality of complete strangers always appealed to me.

Love reading factual novels, where I am learning and at the same time being entertained. Suspence novels are good distraction ie.Grisham, Ludlow, even Allende and Marquez.
Films, too many to mention. Shawshanks Redemption, Green Mile, 39 steps, Sound of music, Leo, Forest Gump, Gladiator, Braveheart, Fried Green Tomatoes, The talented Mr Ripley, Dead Poets Society......

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Having spent a few years in Africa, working in the Safari business I was a given a great opportunity to go and watch these magnificent animals in their natural environment, it was very humbling...whether watching lion or wild dogs or the graceful giraffe picking leaves from the high trees, I felt blessed.

I miss my days of travel, so always nice to meet people that have spent some time globe trotting our little planet.
I spent a while running a Hotel so I guess I have a very strong hospitality background so this being a part of my life for such a long time I know my way around this business.

My understanding of many countries, people and their individual cultures.
I like to cook and so, if the inspiration is there and the right ingredients....well....a feast could be had. :)
