I'm an easy-going guy, a lover of learning, and seeking the beauty of the Americas, through both its people and its natural places. I strive to be respectful and authentic in all that I do. When I'm at home I like to bring people together and build community. On the road, I like to do that in miniature.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm always seeking the genuine in this world, and even more so while traveling. I've found no better way to learn about a place and taste a smidgen of the life there than to spend time with those living there. I am constantly blown away and inspired by how much people are willing to help my each other. Welcoming travelers is a wonderful way to contribute to our global traveling community. I hope to participate in the surfing part of the exchange and build connections with people in the places I travel to. I also plan to host others once my living situation allows for it.

Interests

I love the sun, the outdoors, exploring, climbing, adventuring, and being active. I love meeting new people and learning about different cultures and ways of life. I also find language fascinating and love learning and practicing languages. I like being a bit uncomfortable in new situations and trying to grow as a human being. FOOD! Gotta love food. Cooking it, looking at it, and most of all eating it.

Books: I learned most of my English by reading fantasy and sci fi books after moving to the US. That's still what I spend most of my time reading today.

I can teach English, some German, some Spanish, and even a very small amount of Mandarin. I'm a decent cook of vegan foods. I'm open to talking about anything and learning anything you'd like to share with me!

I'm a positive person and I've a great sense of wonder for our world and all of its beautiful places. I love talking with people and listening to their stories and sharing some of my own. I'm almost always up for a spontaneous mission or adventure! And lastly I'm comfortable on the floor and generally need very little :)
