One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sunrise in the mountains of St. Catherine on Sinai far away from the tourist routs with some good friends, after a hard and cold night of walking and not finding the right way. Seeing the wideness of the landscape around until the coast, in glowing orange and gold after hours between narrow mountain walls was great. And seeing the hundreds of flashlights of the tourists pressed in a little chapel on the moses mountain on the other side, that try to catch the moment in their cameras, not knowing that your soul can take a much greater picture to your memory, was just funny. In that moment i really felt free.
Finding 2 or 3 big curled shells on the beach a little outside of dublin. I thought you can find such things only in regions of the worlds that are much warmer and much more in the south. How small and narrow my knowledge can be sometimes...
Sitting in a beautiful garden of a friend in Erfurt. It lies in the middle between two arms of a little river. It´s summer and pretty hot in the last days. But half an hour ago a really strong rain and a summer storm started. Now it´s over, only the trees and bushes are making a little concert for me with dripping the rest of the rain of their branches. The water of the rivers rose a little bit through the rain and can reach one of the branches of a tree nearby the water now. it catch´s it and pulls it one or two meters in the direction of the floating water. Then the tension gets to strong and the young and elastic branch is flipping back by throwing a little cascade of water drops through the air, swinging a little but up and down until the water catches it again. This is happening again and again and again. How nice: Nature is playing with itself.
