ABOUT ME
I was born and raised in Europe and moved to the US in the mid 90s. My grandfather was allegedly a gypsy, therefore my nomadic tendencies. My work life revolves around socio-environmental issues, which is great, because this is a genuine passion of mine. Traveling has always kept me balanced and continues to connect me with amazing people. I moved to California in 2011 and I'm in love. While I still travel abroad, I really treasure the adventures I get to have right here in my own backyard now <3
PHILOSOPHY
I think Richard Feynman pretty much sums up my philosophy: "I have approximate answers and possible beliefs and different degrees of certainty about different things, but I'm not absolutely sure of anything, and many things I don't know anything about, such as whether it means anything to ask why we're here, and what the question might mean. I might think about it a little bit, but if I can't figure it out, then I go on to something else. But I don't have to know an answer.... I don't feel frightened by not knowing things, by being lost in the mysterious universe without having any purpose, which is the way it really is, as far as I can tell, possibly. It doesn't frighten me." Well, maybe not the "no purpose" part entirely...I do believe in trying my best to solve the world's problems and create some smiles in the process.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have surfed over a dozen times now and still think i's the coolest way to travel. I've also hosted a few times and look forward to continuously pay it forward.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couch surfing really has connected me with a diverse group of people. My favorite experience were a couple of awesome surfers from the U.K. who had just completed a cross U.S. motorcycle trip and I ended up buying one of their bikes before they went back home, which got me into a newly discovered passion - motorcycling! I've also made a couple of other connections that are definitely among the most meaningful in my life.
Interests
Traveling, reading, art & photography, music (ambient, lounge, electronica, world, latin, classical), vegetarian cooking (mostly eating, actually), philosophy, social psychology, neuroscience, environmentalism/conservation, movies, animal welfare, backpacking, motorcycling, scuba diving and surfing.

Music, Movies, and Books
I am a huge movie fan and will watch just about anything, but really enjoy movies based on true stories, movies that address real-life issues and obscure subtitled movies (especially French, Korean and German). I read mostly non-fiction and my music preferences are listed in interests.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Seen: Sydney, Australia from the Sky Tower; view of the Austrian Alps from Eagle's Nest; sunset in Key West; Cape Breton in Canada; the Cali west coast around Big Sur; sunset on the beach in Gualala in northern California; the emerald waters of Lake Tahoe in the early morning.
Done: My work, raising my daughter to be an incredible person, backpacking the Foothills Trail, bungee from the Bridge to Nowhere, skydiving, SCUBA diving in Belize, night surfing.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: I know lots about the environment, can teach you some German, intro to surfing, and I am full of...theories :)
Learn: Anything that will help me become a better person and create a better world.
