About Me

*** I am currently not in Germany***

I am an open-minded, unconventional thinker who loves connecting with people from all over the world.
My passion is learning foreign languages and travelling the world, whenever possible.
Reflecting on myself, I've come 2 terms that there isn't really a definite version of myself.
Being me, I am constantly evolving =)
See what I've wrote 3 years ago about myself, varies so much already from now.
Growing up in the city of Stuttgart, I could have not imagined living on the countryside back when I was 14.
Though, I always enjoyed staying with my grandma at her farm, helping her in her back yard where she introduced me into her vegetable world, gettin2know the circle of seeding + watering+ growing, over harvesting apples on the plantations with my cousins, up to baking apple pie (& much more).
The love for nature has always been residing within me but at heart I'm a city person!
The more I was hit with surprise & joy when I found out that I'd be going to high school in Chicago at the age of 16!!
Eager 2 explore, I'd go out whenever possible (even when that meant to bundle up at -20 C), taking different buses & trains home every (other) day, walking every street in every neighborhood when possible (we're talking 'bout chicago) - simply be drawn by my flow & what surrounds me.
That hasn't change since then, thou after graduation in 2015, I noticed, my desire 2 be drawn to nature bounced back; hence; my love goes out 2 Costa Rica's beautiful tropical rainforests & along that my journey to Nicaragua!

Visiting a new part of the planet with no spanish skills or any prior organisations at the age of 19 has been working out pretty good. Working in a elementary school in Granada, Nicaragua has had tremendous impact on helping me2catch up with the language.

My plan was to go to Colombia in March 2020 but sadly borders were closed on the day my plane was supposed to take me there; hence, I spontaneously switched destinations to Portugal for the first time & like to go back there ever since.

Together with Italy & France those 3 are my favorite countries in Europe & I like to go there as often as I can!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Looking forward to meet easy going people
who can show me around
& who I can show around when they happen to be in my hometown

So far I only had positive experiences with couchsurfers who hosted me & I'm looking forward to make many more!

Interests

Hanging out with people who catch my heights (tobago slang^^), swimming in natural waters - especially the ocean,
playing basketball,
enjoying the sunlight, baking & cooking, dancing, sining
- also wanna learn how to surf - I tried it for a couple days back in Tobago but need to invest more time...
Last but not least I enjoy strolling around wherever I'm drawn to!

Music, Movies, and Books

frank ocean, alicia keys, Cesaria Evora...
Basically everything what comes with hip hop, RBnB & latin music

Also, there is a warm spot inside me preserved & reserved 4 classic music - nothing can make my back shiver & draw my heart into amazement more than the sound of natural instruments✨

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveling in general.
I've been to a lot of different places in Europe but I've also lived one year in Chicago, USA as a foreign exchange year.
This was a life-changing experience which humbled me & opened my eyes in a lotta ways 2 apprecciate things given on a daily basis through a whole new perspective.

In particular:
April 2016, Costa Rica (while working in the butterfly garden in Monteverde):
While chatting with a chinese couple from Toronto it turned out, that the dad of the lady used to teach as a prof at the university of Hohenheim, which not only is in my hometown but in my neighborhood (Plieningen)!!
As a little girl she & her family actually lived in the same street where one of my best friends grew up.
--> It's a small world y'all...
