Overview
About Me
I used to be a very introverted person, however, after my exchange in Thailand over the fall, I have found that I really enjoy meeting people and talking to people and making connections all over the world. I have never traveled solo before but I’m ready to try. I try to be as authentic as I can even if it feels vulnerable at first. I feel like with sites such as these and travelling in general, these are traits that will help me connect with people easier than if I were to remain closed-off and uncomfortable. I am ready to be uncomfortable so that I can grow.
I also really enjoy [low-effort] outdoorsy stuff (hiking, kayaking, hammocking...) and finding new movies, TV shows, and ideas!
More about me:
I really like to write, though I definitely don't as often as I should. One of my overarching goals in life is to write a book. I feel this connects well with meeting people and going new places because that is essentially where stories come from. I love animals so very pet friendly.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have finally gone backpacking with friends and strangers (turned friends) over the fall and now I am ready to try solo traveling. I have never couch surfed before but I have a cousin who did it through Mexico and survived so I'm ready to hand my life over to strangers. Not really, but I like the idea of trusting people who all share a common interest: we like people. Whether it's a "surfer" or host, we are meeting new people we otherwise wouldn't meet in a hostel or hotel. It's that exchange of ideas and experiences that really appeals to me..
I'd like to host my own CSs. I've informally had friends stay with me and I'd like to open that to more people. However, I am currently in a roommate situation and to be respectful of my roommates, I may not always be able to say yes but you are more than welcome to at least try and ask.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
I really don't have a preference. Usually I let whoever I'm with put on their music and then if I hear a song I like, I download it onto my playlist.
Movies:
Okay all time favorite, go-to movie is Shawshank Redemption. BUT, i only have the attention span to watch that movie once a year. Other favorites are Marvel, sci-fi, and fantasy (Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, you know the classics)
TV Shows:
One thing about me is that I have a hard time finishing TV shows I start. For instance, some shows I've started and watched up until the last season are: The Office, Parks and Rec, Arrested Development, That 70's Show, Brooklyn Nine Nine, The Good Place.
Shows I am currently following: Game of Thrones (in the middle of the books too), Rick and Morty (is funny)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent the Fall of 2017 living in Bangkok, Thailand studying at Chulalongkorn University. I got to see a lot of South East Asia and I really learned so much about myself and what I want out of life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share a local's perspective on Bangkok, Maryland, Florida, and California!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I like to cook when I can. Sometimes it turns out good, other times not so much. I still try though.
