About Me

I grew up in a small town in the US and have since been exploring cultures and geographies.
After graduating with degrees in business and Spanish, I moved to Sierra Leone to work with microfinance banks. I then moved to Bolivia where I also worked in economic development and microfinance.
I've spent time in the Amazon teaching English for a while in Ecuador, then returned to the Amazon of Bolivia to do economic development research.
Later I moved to China to teach...then to England for school...then back to China...now back in England doing a PhD in Gender and the refugee experience.

I love taking photos with my Minolta film camera. Also making coffee and reading books.

I could talk or not talk for hours.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing makes my experience in each country more genuine. There's nothing better than having a host excitedly share a place to visit or small restaurant serving their favorite food. I really dislike travel books. Connecting with a place is really connecting with the people
