ABOUT ME

I'm a 24 year old dreamer, thinker, passionate lover of life. Sometimes I like to stay up all night and watch the sun rise and at other times I'd rather stay in bed all day. Intelligence turns me on, I'm an advocate for good grammar and I ride my bike pretty much everywhere.

PHILOSOPHY

On my ankle I have a tattoo that says "shalom". It's often translated as "peace" but rather than the sappy, everyone-is-quiet-and-calm version of peace we often picture, I believe in wholeness--that the world is broken and it's our job to put it back together. The only way we can do that is through love, and the only way we can love is through connection to other people. All other people.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Interested in meeting up at the moment, would be interested in hosting in the future and I am planning a trip to New York in October.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None off the site so far but I did spend a lot of the last few years bouncing around friends' spare rooms so I'm used to sharing bathrooms with people. I also have housemates, so I'm happy being a bit social.

Interests

Reading, writing, movies, fitness--I lift and I like yoga--I'm into binge watching Nexflix, playing tabletop games and knitting. I want to learn how to play guitar and speak other languages and I'm fascinated by tattoos.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like really crappy rom-coms, dance movies, animated movies (particularly Disney) action and deep, thought provoking stuff. Examples include: Pitch Perfect, Tangled, Up, Centre Stage, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The Avengers (and associated movies), The Jane Austen Book Club, Bridesmaids, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Dead Poets Society and all the Lord of The Rings and Hobbit movies.
I like most music and I'll listen to most everything once. I'm really into folky kind of stuff like Lisa MItchell, Mumford and Sons, Ingrid Michaelson and Boy and Bear, I like The Cat Empire, Amanda Palmer, Bastille, Lorde, Clare Bowditch and some hip hop and rock.
I read a lot and I try to read widely. I enjoy memoirs and biographies, fiction, science fiction/fantasy, teen fiction, poetry, the classics and creative nonfiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw the sun rise on Uluru when I was fourteen.

Teach, Learn, Share

I really enjoy baking and cooking and it's something I really love to share with other people. I also am pretty good with the written word--writing and editing and telling stories in that format.
I like learning about things, I like knowledge for the sake of knowledge but I also would love to learn guitar and to speak other languages. And I'm really interested in politics but I know next to nothing about it.
