ABOUT ME

I love traveling ... been to most of Europe, some of Asia, and South America.. lived in Denmark and Brazil (briefly) .. but I haven't been able to travel quite as much as I would like in the last couple of years. I took a trip to Thailand during the 2011 summer. The trip refueled my desire to meet international people and travel more.

Love my job ... I basically get paid to be a professional extrovert.

Good eats... I love finding out what new restaurants have opened up in Seattle and generally trying as many great (cheap and pricey) ones as I can. However, now that I have more of a soul satisfying job and less of a wallet satisfying one, I have been hitting more of the cheap ones. I also love to cook and bake.

Nature... I have one of the Seattle P-Patches/gardens. Dorky but true, I love getting dirty in the garden and collecting strawberries, kale, herbs, etc. I also have to get out of the city and commune with nature.

People... some of my most pleasurable memories have been made by connecting/spending time with amazing, interesting people.. whether that be dancing all night with someone I have just met, participating in a 10 person group massage circle in Costa Rica or jumping on a plane with my best friend to Latvia.

Artsy stuff... Independent film, museums, good design, painting, and music, and being around creative/artsy people is important to me.

Exercise... I enjoy running, bike rides, and yoga.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted surfers, surf, meet up with surfers for coffee and drinks, and go to CS events.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met fantastic surfers! I had my first surfing experience in Portland, Oregon and it was great! I met the founder of Couchsurfing in San Fran for coffee too, what a great guy!

Books: Just Kids, Freedom, What French Women Know, and The Road. Just finished The Fountainhead - interesting.

Movies: Varies but I usually prefer the sort that play at independent theaters. However, I have a special place in my heart for epic action films and stupid comedies.

Music: Haim, Daft Punk, The Xx, M83, Passion Pit, Architecture in Helsinki, Kimbra, Quadron, The Head and the Heart, Florence + The Machine, Bon Iver, Adele, The Gossip, Miike Snow, and Mumford & sons.

I like to document my travels and life in general. I am on my 40th journal.

What else.. used to barrel race horses (participate in rodeos) and was a contestant on a dating reality tv show.
