About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Walk on all the continents, swim in all the oceans, be nice to people and do anything I can to experience the whole wide world! My hope is to touch all people I encounter with the positivity and compassion that others have shown me.

ABOUT ME

Adventurous, energetic and eager to be a part of whatever is happening. I am kind-hearted, open-minded and ensure I surround myself with like-minded people. I am utterly addicted to traveling. It offers me everything I feel I need in life; diversity, resourcefulness, adventure and so on. I'd like to say I love in the present, but when I'm at home I'm usually planning the next trip....so I'm working on that balance. A definite flaw is my indecision. It's difficult for me to make choices, but mostly because I'm sure I'd be happy with either option.
Those who know me would probably call me cheap while I consider myself an aspiring "minimalist". I love finding free/resourceful things to do and ways to live. I love a good bargain, so sometimes it's nice to be reminded that it's okay to splurge from time to time.
I am a vegetarian (well pescetarian I suppose is the word for it...haven't been able to cut out the delicious and nutritious fish-uos). But I'm definitely not offended by others eating meat and I certainly don't want to talk anyone into giving up the wonder that is bacon!

PHILOSOPHY

If you don't try, you don't know.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I offer what I can and appreciate those who do the same for me. I'm sad to say I haven't had much to offer lately as a host as I've been living in my van...hope to at least offer hangouts and advice!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Been hosting and surfing and love 'em both. Hosting in Thailand was an awesome way to live vicariously through other travellers whilst working, while surfing in New Zealand pretty much saved my broke ass when I first arrived. I love meeting people, sharing and caring for each other despite only having just met.

Interests

TRAVEL!!! I love the outdoors, I love meeting new people, being mellow, being crazy, being by the sea, being in the mountains, being adventurous. Really, as long as I'm with great people, my interests are ever expanding. Rock climbing, yoga, hiking and biking keep me entertained as of late, but I'm always looking forward to new adventures!

Music, Movies, and Books

As much as I love being active, I really do like to relax with a movie/book. Oh and I've become a podcast junkie: radiolab, the moth, invisibilia, the dollop ...
I dig music. Truly, everything from classical to EDM.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was a part of the Guiness World Record for largest swimming lesson. I was the MC for the lesson at my facility but forgot to register my name for the record book! (sounds like a lie, I know, but I promise it's not!)

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a Jill of all trades and a master of none!
I like hippie handicrafts (making bracelets, earrings, painting etc)
I can teach you to snowboard if you come to Colorado
I am a novice juggler and a clumsy dancer but we can do both because it's a blast!
I LOVE TO LEARN from the people I come across. My most important education has come from traveling rather than the many many years of "proper schooling" and university.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you don't mind giving up meat for a meal I'm more than happy to whip up some grub (most people say they didn't even miss the meat!). I love to swap stories and advice with other travelers. I'm terrible at chess but I'll play with you if you like. I have tons of good vibes, more than I can handle...can't help but share those!
