About Me

in berlin i spend my spare time mostly with bouldering, and meeting friends for some beers or partying. i also love to read and just lay back and have a relaxed day in the sun with a good book and finding something good to eat. when i´m travelling i focus on the outdoors: climbing, hiking, surfing, rafting. i want to do things which bring me out of my comfort zone and let me experience something new.

PHILOSOPHY

give everyone and everything a chance. if you don't something, that's alright, but never say something is shit or doesn't work before You haven't even tried it.
never stagnate.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i can´t offer my couch while i´m gone, cause i sublet my room.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

some years ago on my way to chile I had several stops and that was the first time I used couch surfing although I've been registered for years. It was a great experience.. I met people who couldn't have been more different but they all were friendly, helpful and it was just fun to be with them. I crashed on some friends friends couches and on one occasion,my friends and my jacket got stolen in a club, a strangers couch safed our lives, as we lost our keys and it was freezing cold outside...

Interests

my main interests are surfing, climbing, exploring, hiking, travelling, arts, having a good long party once in a while (berlin clubs are perfect for that), good food, beer etc.
for couchsurfing, i think i´m pretty mainstream. i just want to find nice, interesting people to have a beer with or just a good conversation.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

in laos i worked in a climbing camp and a friend of mine developed a new route in the rocks a 35 meter long second pitch which startet 25 meters off the ground. she was so kind to give me the possibilty to have the first ascent.
i was really really nervous, cause i´m not a great climber and the route has never been climbed before, she just guessed, that i could make it.
in the middle of the route, around 40 meters abouve the ground i got a panic attack (i forgot to mention, that i´m afraid of hights), i was shaking like crazy and everything started spinning and i had to go down. on the second try, at a point higher on that route a rock came out of the wall and i almost fell like 5 meters, but i could hold mayself with one hand and i somehow managed it to pull myself to the rock again. and i finished the route. with both tries it took me aound 1,5 hours to finish the climb. well... my friend, she climbed it in around 5 to 10 minutes, BUT still i got the first ascent, through which i was allowed to give it a name...
we came to the conclusion, that i climbed it very badly and very risky so we gave it the name: michi (my nickname) boh salad, which is laotian and meens michi is not smart...
so now i will be forever in lao climbing history as a stupid climber. for people who know something about climbing the route got a grade of 6a+.

Teach, Learn, Share

i don't know what somebody could learn from me. its nice to have me around and to do all kinds of stuff. i´m open to everything and very spontaneous. i´ve been living in berlin for 15 years now and i´ve got great experience due to the clubbing culture. i´ve gone quieter, but still i know good adresses, stories and connections.
i love good discussions on interesting dopics and i love to learn and here new things in any matter.

What I Can Share with Hosts
